The Evolving Minds Project

Summary

The Evolving Minds Project curriculum is a cohesive sequence of 12 lessons on biological evolution. It combines storybooks, animations, hands-on investigations, and group activities to help elementary school students build foundational understandings of big ideas, preparing them for lifelong success in science.

The curriculum is fully aligned with NGSS standards. It has been designed by child development and curriculum experts, life scientists, and classroom teachers, and extensively field-tested in third grade classrooms. It’s an easy-to-use, scientifically accurate curriculum you can trust.

The project brings together the expertise of the developmental psychologists and learning scientists of the Child Cognition Lab at Boston University with the education scientists and curriculum design experts at TERC. Partnering with teachers, the project provides exciting research-based curriculum materials for teachers and students.
