Summary
This document describes the process by which the NSF-funded Advancing the Field of Data Science in the Early Childhood Years project (DRL- 2502649) developed its Learning Goals Framework.
It includes background rationale for the project and traces how the Framework expanded and was modified based on input from participants at a series of workshops. The chronological description also provides insight into how the project integrated multiple perspectives on data science and how it addressed the developmental needs of the targeted age range of children 4-7.
