Use of a Signing Bioscience Dictionary in Increasing Student Interpreters’ American Sign Language Life Science Vocabulary

Judy Vesel,  Tara Robillard, and their collaborator M. Diane Clark (Lamar University) recently published an article in the International Journal of Interpreter Education. It focuses on exploration of effectiveness of our Signing Bioscience Dictionary (SBD), when used in conjunction with Lamar University’s interpreting program, to increase student interpreters’ ASL life science vocabulary and content knowledge and ability to interpret material fluently and accurately. This work was done in the context of the authors’  IUSE project (NSF Award #1703343).
