TERC’s Michael Cassidy brings Biomimicry to the 2026 RI Science Teachers Association (RISTA) Conference
TERC Senior Researcher Michael Cassidy participated in the 2026 Rhode Island Science Teachers Association (RISTA) Annual Conference on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence.
The conference brought together science educators from across Rhode Island for a day of collaboration, professional learning, and new ideas for science education.
Cassidy shared TERC’s work in biomimicry, an approach that draws inspiration from nature to solve real-world challenges. Through TERC’s Biomimicry as an Authentic Anchor project, educators explore ways to connect science and engineering through hands-on learning experiences that encourage students to investigate biological systems and apply what they discover to engineering design.
