TERC researchers Andee Rubin and Gillian Puttick, with collaborators, recently published “Using Existing Data to Investigate Ecosystem Change” in The Science Teacher. The article describes how ninth-grade students used data to investigate the rise of wildebeest and buffalo populations in Serengeti between 1960 and 1975. Students engaged in data practices, including interpreting scatterplots and evaluating evidence.
