TERC at the AAC&U Conference

TERC researchers will present two sessions at the upcoming Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) Conference, highlighting work on research synthesis and Indigenous pathways in STEM.

On March 18 (5:00–6:15 PM), Maria Ong, Nuria Jaumot-Pascual, Lisette Esmeralda Torres-Gerald, and Christina Silva will present “Synthesizing Qualitative Literature: An Introduction to Purposes and Methods.” The session introduces Qualitative Meta-Synthesis (QMS) and explores its purpose, how it compares with other literature synthesis approaches, and the basic stages of conducting a meta-synthesis.

On March 20 (4:00–5:15 PM), Nuria Jaumot-Pascual (TERC), Maddie Habeck (AISES), and Maria Ong (TERC) will present “Seeds of Sovereignty: Using TribalCrit to Cultivate Indigenous Pathways in STEM through AISES.” The session explores how the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) supports Indigenous students and professionals in STEM through community, counterspaces, and culturally grounded research methods.
