TERC Presents on Supporting Early Math Through Co-Educators
At the Learning Forward Conference, Audrey Martínez-Gudapakkam of TERC and colleagues presented “Co-educators: Providing Family Math Support for Student Success,” a session focused on how schools can better support early math learning by recognizing co-educators, as an often overlooked resource.
The presentation shared how a research project used a professional development curriculum to help co-educators support student math learning and strengthen family engagement, with participants exploring ways to deliver math professional development that builds confidence, engaging in mathematical games for use with educators and students, accessing practical resources such as videos, readings, and game ideas, and discussing strategies for engaging families in early math.
