Encouraging All Students’ Voices in Small Group Work: Fostering Equitable Participation through Reflective Practices
Tuesday, October 14th – 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM

Description: Small group work provides students opportunities to: collaborate, share ideas, and learn from others. How students participate and interact can impact their learning and mathematical identities. We will explore how coaches and teachers can support equitable participation in small group work through evidence-based reflection and asking students about their participation and by taking action based on what they learn. We will examine reflection tools and discuss examples of teachers and students engaging in reflective practices.
