ND in STEM at TERC Partners on SPARK to Bring STEM & Coding to Youth Experiencing Homelessness

ND in STEM at TERC is proud to partner with BootUp and Fun Zone Reading Club on SPARK, a collaborative initiative to increase access to high-quality STEM and Computer Science education for children and families experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, California.

Through SPARK, we work with trusted community spaces—shelters, libraries, housing providers, and community centers—to host free coding and STEM camps for elementary-aged youth. Camps are led by local parents and caregivers who are trained as instructors, building leadership skills while creating joyful, hands-on learning experiences for kids.

How You Can Help:

  • Host a camp at your LA community space
  • Apply to be a parent instructor (no coding experience needed)
