Storytelling Math: Math, Diversity and the Power of Story

Picture books can help all children see themselves as strong mathematical thinkers. Join author Ana Crespo, math education researcher Marlene Kliman, and editor Alyssa Mito Pusey as they take a deep dive into picture books that combine authentic cultural diversity, emotionally resonant stories, and deep mathematical ideas. They’ll offer examples from the Storytelling Math series—a collaboration among Charlesbridge Publishing, TERC, and a host of authors and illustrators from varied cultural backgrounds—and show how these books can support equitable learning in K-2 classrooms. Learn More about Storytelling Math
