Our customized professional learning supports educators in engaging every student in meaningful and important mathematics and in becoming strong and confident math learners. We will work with you to come up with a series of professional learning experiences that meet the needs of your school/district, budget, and schedule.

A customized series of learning experiences might include workshops, lesson studies, learning walks, and/or small group sessions for teachers, coaches and/or administrators. The work can be done in-person, online, or could be a hybrid of both.

The professional learning would focus on one of four pathways, each connected to a critical area in developing and sustaining learning communities where every child is recognized — and recognizes themselves — as a capable mathematical thinker, and every teacher is equipped to make that possible. Our work together can begin with deciding on a pathway.

  • Pathway: Deep and Rigorous Mathematics
Learning experiences focus on math content and pedagogy that equips educators to support and deepen students’ engagement with deep and rigorous mathematics.
  • Pathway: Equitable Participation
Learning experiences focus on developing math communities that support broad-based participation; where every student feels welcome to share their ideas and has their ideas taken seriously.
  • Pathway: Strength-Based Assessment and Accommodation
Learning experiences focus on determining students’ mathematical knowledge and strengths and planning next steps that build on their understanding.
  • Pathway: Connections to Students, their Families, and Communities
Learning experiences focus on connecting students’ lives, experiences and interests to the mathematics they are learning and on using mathematics to learn more about and have an impact on the world.
