Introductory Materials

We highly recommend that you read the Getting Started document before embarking on this training program. It provides important background for the person who is leading the professional development, including tips about timing and scheduling, information for how to tailor the program to your context, how to choose exhibits in your own institution for hands-on practice and guidance on setting a respectful context for watching videos of staff-visitor interactions.

The Introductory Session is a shorter session (about an hour) that prepares a group of practitioners for making the best use of the topic-based modules in their own context, including conversation about the culture of their institution, consideration of which exhibits they want to use to observe visitor behavior, and norms for watching video as part of professional learning.
