Students addressed climate change topics through a systems perspective. Students applied the theory of triadic game design (Harteveld, 2011) to choose three dimensions of their game:

  • Reality – the science content of a game
  • Meaning – the intended learning goals of the game
  • Play – how the player experiences the game

The games shown here come from eighth grade classes that participated in the project. Students spent approximately 11 hours programming the games. Click on each photo to view and play the game.
