Landmark College Summer Institute for Educators
Tara Robillard presented at the 2026 Landmark College Summer Institute for Educators. “NeuroVivid: Lessons Learned from a STEM Maker Camp for Neurodivergent Youth” explored the work of NeuroVivid, a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded ITEST grant focused on creating and testing a weeklong Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) maker camp for neurodivergent middle schoolers. The project created a series of activities and guides in collaboration with a team of neurodivergent youth and the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI). NeuroVivid ran several camps at NYSCI and was very well received by campers and their parents. Participants in this Summer Institute session ran through one of the activities from the camp to get firsthand experience with the activities. The session included an overview of the program design and how it was created to meet the needs of the broadest range of learners possible.
