The NGSS Meets the Inquiry Project is a PD model for elementary teachers that enables them to align their science curriculum with the NGSS.

In this PD model, teachers

  • Experience a curriculum that exemplifies the new vision of science education
  • Identify features that make it an exemplar and necessary shifts
  • Adapt, reshape, or design another unit with the support of a PLC, resources, and tools

With teachers, we identified 10 key features of a science classroom that reflect the vision of the NGSS. We designed agendas and resources for a PLC pathway for teachers to gain a clearer understanding of the NGSS vision and the pedagogical shifts required to achieve it.
