EDC is developing and testing innovative curriculum materials for double-period algebra classes to support learners at risk of failing regular 9th grade algebra. They are also conducting a survey of contexts in which such materials might be used, as well as a quasi-experimental study on the impact of the materials. TERC is providing a process evaluation, working regularly with EDC staff to be sure the many components of this complex project stay on track, as well as providing external oversight of the design and implementation of EDC's own study of the impact of Transition to Algebra materials.
