Girls Encouraged to Celebrate Science at Boston Science Festival, September 22

On Sunday, September 22, 2002, TERC and the Sally Ride Science Clubs invite young girls in grades 5-8 to celebrate their interest in science and the pioneering spirit of Dr. Sally Ride, the first female US astronaut. The Boston Science Festival will be held at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Sunday, September 22, from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The event features opportunities to learn about science, hear a keynote by Sally Ride, enjoy a street fair, attend Discovery Workshops, and enter a raffle. Adults are welcome, and separate adult track workshops are available.
TERC will have a booth at the event featuring hands-on learning opportunities in math and science, and will also present two workshops for parents, teachers, and other adults.
Registration begins at 11:30, and is $15 in advance or $20 on site. The registration fee includes the keynote, workshop, lunch and the street fair.
11:30am - 1:00 pm, register, enjoy the street fair, eat lunch.
1:00 pm - 4:30 pm, keynote by Sally Ride, workshops, raffle.
