DataTools

The DataTools project is facilitating middle school science teachers and students using Earth system science data, and the IT tools needed to analyze and draw conclusions from the data. The year-long program features a two-week summer workshop for Massachusetts teachers that uses the Earth Exploration Toolbook to introduce a set of data analysis tools. Teachers prepare customized activities, which are pilot-tested by a group of their own students. During the following school year, teachers support one another through online discussions, and implement two investigations using the IT tools and data in their own classrooms.
