The Mixing in Math group received funding from the IBM Global Work-Life Fund to develop a version of the I Believe in Math materials for child care and after school providers in Argentina. This project builds on two prior projects: I Believe in Math for the US and a similar project developed for English-speaking and French-speaking Canada. We will work with Edupas, an educational resource organization in Argentina to (1) develop a literal and cultural translation of the I Believe in Math books for preschool and school age childcare; (2) select accompanying manipulative materials and books produced in Argentina; (3) develop culturally-appropriate materials for outreach and support; and (4) create website resources in Spanish for parents. All IBM Argentina employees will be able to request these materials for their children's childcare providers.
